Glacier Safari
Glacier Safari in Ischgl – enter the ice age!
In Ischgl in Austria you can explore the high alpine glacier fields of the Piz Buin during a rather special tour. All you need is good stamina for a longer mountaineering hike.
The mountain world around Ischgl and Silvretta, Verwall and Samnaun expands across a huge area and into breathtaking heights. Alpinists have preferred to use the Paznaun as their starting point for often extremely difficult tours into the high mountain ranges. When you are hiking your eyes will linger on these monuments of nature. But you can also enter this world yourself, without years of alpine mountaineering experience.
Together with an experienced mountain guide you will hike to the Obere Ochsenscharte. The Glacier Safari does not have any specific technical requirements; all you need to bring is the standard hiking equipment. Though safety is the highest priority and therefore further equipment is provided by the Sportcamp Ischgl. If you are capable of completing a normal hiking tour of approximately 6 hours, the Glacier tour is no problem for you.
Your destination will reward you for all the hard effort during your ascent. You will hike through the Jamtal Glacier until you are right in front of the legendary Piz Buin. And when you have reached this incredible viewpoint, you have also conquered the 3,000 meter mark. The Piz Buin summit with its 3.312 meters in height is the third highest summit in the Silvretta Mountains and also marks the border with Switzerland.
